01 / PRODUCT SELECTION

Three Starting Points for Your Lighting Scheme

For landscape architects, lighting designers and contractors planning projects in the Netherlands, start with how the space will be used. Compare columns for streets and cycle routes with architectural lighting for squares, pedestrian areas and landscaped developments.

03 / ROUTES & PUBLIC SPACE

Plan for People Moving Through the Site

A cycle route beside a residential street, a park entrance and a shared public square need different lighting layouts. For a project in the Netherlands, send a plan showing the routes, crossing points, neighbouring windows and areas intended to remain unlit. Identify which parts of the scheme need functional illumination and where architectural body lighting is proposed.

Provide the designer’s mounting heights, spacing and luminaire distribution. Ask the lighting designer to assess glare, light spill and the relationship between cyclists and pedestrians at changes in direction or level. A decorative column should support the lighting plan as well as the visual character of the space.

Bring the Lighting Requirements into the Brief

State the required colour temperature, operating hours and any proposed dimming or control arrangement. Request the photometric files and mounting information for the selected luminaire so the project team can evaluate the layout.

If the tender sets requirements for sensitive surroundings or nearby habitats, include them with the enquiry. Suitability must be assessed for the actual equipment and site; a catalogue image alone cannot establish lighting performance.

04 / EXPOSURE & ACCESS

Define the Conditions Around the Column

For an exposed waterfront, coastal development or open landscape, provide the precise installation location and the engineer’s wind-loading criteria. Include the luminaire’s weight and projected area, bracket geometry and any signs or other equipment attached to the pole.

Describe salt exposure, the required corrosion protection and the preferred finish. Specify the RAL colour, access-door requirements and maintenance arrangements. The proposed treatment and column configuration should be confirmed for the order, with foundation and anchor details coordinated by the project engineer.

Your Enquiry Checklist

  1. Site plan, route types and installation postcode.
  2. Model, quantity, height and outreach.
  3. Luminaire data, controls and structural loading criteria.
  4. Exposure conditions, finish and document requirements.
  5. Delivery access, unloading plan and target programme.

05 / MANUFACTURED IN TÜRKİYE

Coordinate Supply with Your Project Programme

Palmiye Lighting manufactures in İstanbul, Türkiye. Contractors and procurement teams enquiring about projects in the Netherlands can contact the team directly with a model shortlist, quantities and delivery destination.

Ask for a quotation that identifies the production schedule, packing dimensions and weights, named delivery point and agreed transport responsibilities. Confirm access and unloading constraints for urban sites before delivery is arranged. Lead times and supply terms are confirmed for each order.

Agree the Documents Before Ordering

Share the tender’s column requirements, including any specified EN 40 criteria, drawings and submission language. Request the available documents for the exact model, material, finish and mounting arrangement.

This is an English-language guide for Netherlands project enquiries. If your submission requires Dutch documents, state that requirement so availability and scope can be confirmed.

NETHERLANDS / ROUTE REVIEW

Prepare a Route-by-Route Lighting Brief

A continuous cycle route can pass from a lit residential street into a waterside path or a dark landscape. Treat these as separate design zones before choosing the columns. Rijkswaterstaat describes shielding, lower mounting positions and selective or dynamic lighting among its site-specific measures near bat routes. This is useful design context, rather than a specification for every Dutch cycle path.

Route zone Information to mark on the plan Decision before a product quotation
Residential approach Windows, entrances, crossings and existing lighting points. Luminaire distribution, mounting geometry and light-spill assessment.
Waterside or habitat edge Ecologist-identified sensitive areas and the limits of any required lighting. Whether to light the zone, then shielding and operating hours.
Open cycle link Route width, junctions, vegetation and maintenance access. Column positions and any approved detection or dimming sequence.

For example, an enquiry for a residential access route and adjoining canal path should contain two layout references, not one repeated pole spacing. Send the lighting designer’s zone schedule with the model shortlist. Ask separately about luminaire controls and any body-lighting circuit; availability and compatibility depend on the selected configuration. Mark control equipment, brackets and attached accessories in the loading information supplied to the engineer.

06 / PROJECT QUESTIONS

From Design Reference to Technical Enquiry

Can we use these designs for a cycle-path scheme?

Use the collections to shortlist forms and mounting arrangements. Your designer should then assess the chosen luminaire, layout, glare and control requirements for the particular route.

Where are the pictured installations?

The application photographs on this page show completed installations in Türkiye. They illustrate Palmiye products in use and do not represent projects in the Netherlands.

How do we start a supply enquiry?

Select model references from the English catalogue or collections and send the project brief, quantities and destination postcode. Our team in Türkiye can review the requested configuration and quotation scope.
